Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-08-17. August 2026: added the Outlook category labels OutlookDog applies to your mail, and the rules you can teach it. August 17, 2026: clarified that the instant safety check and Needs-You flag are always free — a paid plan buys the AI actions, and a lapsed or unpaid plan pauses those actions only.
The service
OutlookDog is an Outlook add-in that summarizes email, flags likely phishing, helps you draft replies, and applies Outlook category labels to your messages — to the message you are reading, to your recent inbox when you categorize your whole inbox, and, when you accept the offer, to mail you already have. It is an assistant, not a security product.
No security guarantee
OutlookDog's safety checks are advisory. It flags messages it finds suspicious and explains why, but it can be wrong (both ways). Always use your own judgment. OutlookDog never sends, forwards, deletes, quarantines, or moves your mail; the only change it makes to a message is adding or removing one of your Outlook category labels.
AI output
Summaries, drafts, the category OutlookDog picks for a message, and the rule it builds from a sentence you type are generated by AI and may contain errors. Review anything before you rely on or send it. You are always the one who sends. When you teach a rule in plain English, OutlookDog shows you the rule it understood before it is saved, and tells you how many existing messages would change before it changes any — and that change can be undone.
Rules you teach
A rule can do exactly two things: put a sender's mail in one of your categories, or stop OutlookDog flagging that sender as needing you. There is no rule that can send, forward, move, or delete mail, and no rule can mark a message safe. Rules are stored in your own mailbox, not on our servers — which is why they follow you between Outlook clients, and why deleting your OutlookDog account does not remove them. You remove them yourself, from the Training page in the pane. See the privacy policy for what happens to the sentence you type.
No warranty
OutlookDog is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its summaries, drafts, or safety verdicts are accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OutlookDog and Speraj LLC are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or reliance on — the service, including a missed phishing email, an inaccurate summary, a drafted reply, or a message given the wrong category by OutlookDog or by a rule you taught it. Your use is at your own discretion and risk.
Plans, subscriptions & billing
Free trial. New users get a 7-day free trial that starts at your first sign-in. During the trial you get a daily allowance of AI actions at no charge, plus the instant safety check and Needs-You flag. When the 7 days end, the AI actions — summaries, reply drafts, the AI scam read, and Categorize — require a paid plan. The instant safety check and Needs-You flag keep working and are always free: they run on your own device and no plan turns them off. This applies whether you use OutlookDog's AI or your own provider key: bring-your-own-key is included with every plan, but it is not a substitute for one. Trial length and allowances may change with notice.
Paid plans. Per-mailbox subscriptions that keep the AI actions working after the free trial and lift the standard daily AI-action cap (a high fair-use limit still applies to prevent automated abuse — no ordinary use comes near it): Personal (personal Microsoft accounts, from $7/mailbox/month, less per additional mailbox) and Business (work accounts, from $9/seat/month, less at volume); Enterprise is custom. See the pricing page for current rates. First-time subscribers get a 7-day free trial; you can cancel any time during the trial and you won't be charged. Otherwise your payment method is charged when the trial ends. During a trial, the first 5 mailboxes/seats on a plan receive Pro; the full purchased count unlocks at your first payment. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice, effective from your next billing period.
Billing. Your subscription is sold through Stripe as our authorized reseller and merchant of record. Stripe processes your payment and calculates, collects, and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT, so the total at checkout may add tax to the listed price. We never see or store your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can change your seat or mailbox count anytime from your account (Manage Plan): increases are charged the prorated difference immediately; decreases become account credit toward future invoices (not a refund).
Cancellation. Cancel anytime from your account (or the add-in: Settings → Manage Plan). During the free trial, cancelling means no charge at all. After the trial, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro access until then.
Failed renewals. If a renewal payment fails, we retry your card for a couple of days. If it still doesn't go through, we email you and keep Pro fully active — for you and everyone on your plan — for a 30-day grace period so you can update your card. If it isn't updated by then, Pro is switched off — the AI actions pause until you resubscribe, which you can do anytime. Your instant safety check and Needs-You flag keep working throughout: they run on your own device and are always free.
Refunds. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law; cancelling stops future charges but does not prorate the current period. If something went wrong (e.g., you were charged after cancelling, or the service was materially unavailable), contact support@outlookdog.com and we'll make it right.
Bring your own key. With your own AI provider key, your provider bills you directly for AI usage under its own terms, and your mail goes straight to that provider — never to our servers. The mode is included on every plan at no extra charge from us, and during the free trial. It requires an active plan or trial, like the AI actions it replaces — your provider's bill covers the AI, not your OutlookDog subscription. The instant safety check and Needs-You flag need neither.
Data Processing Agreement
If you hold a Business or Enterprise subscription, our Data Processing Agreement is incorporated into these Terms by reference and applies automatically — you do not need to request or sign it. It governs the personal data we process on your behalf, which in practice means your team roster: we never store message content. If you need a countersigned copy for procurement, email support@outlookdog.com.
Acceptable use
Don't use OutlookDog to break the law or abuse the service (e.g., automated bulk abuse of the free trial). We may rate-limit or suspend accounts that do. You must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent where you live); OutlookDog is a productivity tool for adults and isn't directed to children.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we'll give reasonable notice (for example, an email to your account address or a notice in the product) before they take effect; continuing to use OutlookDog after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you and Speraj LLC submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally. If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, nothing here removes the statutory rights (including any right of withdrawal) you have under your local law.
